“Absolute Game Changer” Coming in the Domain Industry
Next Monday’s announcement will be an absolute game changer.Competitors, take note!#Domaining #Domains #Domainers
— Domainsville (@Domainsville) September 6, 2012
I think the term “game changer” is often overused, but Abdu Tarabichi from Domainsville.com posted a tweet earlier today indicating that he is going to be making a domain industry announcement on Monday that “will be an absolute game changer,” and he warned his competitors of the forthcoming news.
I am not privy to this news or anything about the news, and I am curious what you think the game changing announcement will be.
Post your guesses below. If you guess correctly come Monday, you’ll get a virtual high five from me.

My guess is some sort of vertically integrated domaining co. Prospecting through development

Oh, just what this industry has always needed. It’s about time someone came up this. A domain appraisal tool. Ooh boy. This will rock the domaining world to it’s foundation.

It’s obvious: he bought Domaining.com for an undisclosed but quite large sum in crispy euro-notes.

i believe they’re going to add two new vowels to the alphabet opening up tens of thousands of new top quality single word dotcom domain names.

People who think they’re going to change the game rarely seem to do so. . . . we usually find game changers in hindsight as it becomes clear how their new tech/idea/service created a paradigm shift.

Always a risk to make a bold claim, it sure generates link bait and if you pull through you gain credibility… if you fall short you look foolish.
Who are his competitors? Domaining.com. Not sure who else is a direct competitor.
If I had to guess… if Domainsville hooked up with a popular platform (Sedo, Afternic, GoDaddy, etc…) and got the news featured on Domainsville to be featured on that site that would be pretty significant exposure for Domainsville, the domain bloggers, etc…

Probably Zynga bought them, and are making Domainsville.com into an online Domain Game!

Elliot, if you want to really provide a virtual high-five, I’m taking offers on Hifives.com – Couldn’t help myself. Anyway, I recently won a week of advertising on the Domainsville site and I have to say, I got a some traffic through the week directly from them, which also resulted in a sale that I’m closing this evening! Hats off to them!

Personally I hate pre-launch hype. If it’s truly amazing just launch it and let the product speak for itself. That said, best of luck to Abdu with this unknown project.

Could it be a new, instant five page mini-site service for all your domains for $199 for LIFE!!!??? J/K
Seriously though, anything new and fresh is welcomed.

Wonder if Mr. Frager & Shane will concur in opinion & evaluation about the “game changer” when such revelation is made ?!?

He’s developed a way to make domains obsolete. It’s a series of numbers and dots.

Why waste a Beautiful Day Thinking what it might be..
Let it talk for itself and we gonna say if its really a game changer.

he is purchasing everyone’s portfolios and will become “the (new) man who owns the internet” XD

the game can change, when new personas’ reach the pedestal
their message to their followers, believers, readers.. can change the game in the minds of the “caught-up”.
the revelations, tools, platforms, modules, etc. which are designed for you to function in, will be characterized as above the rest.
as the promo couldn’t be any less….
in order to have an effect.
but it has to “pre-launched” by established and acceptable messengers.
otherwise you’ll never know it’s importance to the industry.
that’s how you change the game.
Good Luck!

I appreciate some of the humor, but I wish there were some more serious guesses in the comment section, since those guesses could show some areas where people would hope to see improvements and changes.

I am not sure what it is as I do not know enough about Mr. Abdu T.—-but I have a feeling it will not be good for the small domainer.

I would bet it has something to do with Frank Schilling and what he mentioned on his blog post below
“So what if I told you that your friends at InternetTraffic.com have been building a system over the past 9 months that doesn’t just rival, but exceeds the best sales platforms available to sell on the secondary market today.”
September 8th, 2012 at 10:26 am

Guess.. Because he is talking about competitors watching out, it is an upgrade to Domainsville. A new feature that makes blog aggregation better in some way.

Lots of good guesses here
Personally i hope its not a domain management portal to handle all your domains, be it expiration alert, DNS, uptime monitoring, buy/sell market, rank/serp/seo tools, because we will release that quite soon

“Domainsville Dots” ??????? Wow, what a Game Changer!! What a Joke!! Another typical BS domain post to get people to read your blog.
September 10th, 2012 at 11:48 am
Elliot Silver
I was hoping it would actually be a “game changer” and not hype. If that’s the big game changing news, I am disappointed.
As I mentioned, I had no idea what the news would be.
If you find this a “typical BS domain post” perhaps you should not return to my blog.
September 10th, 2012 at 11:50 am

Elliot, I was not directing this towards you. I like your blog. When i said “your. Blog” I meant his blog. I can’t stand when people hype something that is not anywhere close to being a so called game changer. He definitely lost a reader in me. Sorry for the confusion brother.

No worries – and sorry for the reaction. I’ve written over 3k posts in 5 years, and it’s hurtful when people make a blanket statement, but I appreciate your clearing it up that it wasn’t aimed at me. I try not to post much BS

Hello everyone and thank you all for your comments. In no event did we hype this news, neither did we ask any blogger to write about it. We simply tweeted that we’re going to come up with some new idea “game changer” in the sense that it’s going to be new in nature. We made two announcements (the Dots rewards program and the Alerts mailing list) of which both are unique.

New in nature and game changer are two totally different things . I’ll tell you whats new in nature, how about some new posts that I have not read on Domaining.com already.
