Follow the Leaders

Ever been baffled a purchase made by a domain investment industry leader? Can’t figure out how they valued a name at so much more than you? One of the easiest ways to learn about the business is to follow what the industry leaders do with their names. Perhaps you can learn a thing or two for your next project if they deviate from the standard parking page. A few notable domain names purchased at TRAFFIC that appear to be more highly valued than only for PPC include: Seniors.com, Subways.com, and DiscountPerfumes.com. It will be interesting to see what the new owners do with their investments, and maybe we can learn a thing or two from their efforts.

If I remember correctly Seniors.com was purchased by the people who also run AdultFriendFinder.com. The company operates a number of non-adult dating sites, so I would imagine that this domain will be turned into a dating site for Seniors.

Hi Frank,
Thanks for posting. I checked, and you were right about it being owned by FriendFinderInc.com. Should be fun to see a site like AdultFriendFinder.com geared towards the senior market. It would be interesting to see some of their banner ads like this: http://ads.adultfriendfinder.com/banners/ffadult/aff_cj_500x500_04b.gif
