SlangWho: Social Search Engine Coming

An article in today’s New York Post’s Page Six indicated that a new social search engine has the attention of search stars Google and IAC (owners of Ask.com). TheĀ  social search engine, known as SlangWho, is expected to be launched by Sasha Tcherevkoff.

According to the NY Post:

SASHA Tcherevkoff, co-owner of Pop Burger, has leased Richard Avedon’s former TriBeCa studio as offices for his Silicon Alley media project, and has turned down meeting requests from Google and IAC to discuss the launch of his anticipated social search en gine, Slangwho. “They can see what we have created when we launch like everyone else,” Tcherevkoff told Page Six. “We are not for sale. Stop [bleep]ing calling us.”

I did some searching and couldn’t find much information about SlangWho to see if there is an online buzz in tech circles. It will be interesting to follow along and see if this is a publicity ploy to grab the attention of others or if this is the real deal.

As an aside, I am a fan of Pop Burger and have been to a few parties down there.
