EB – The Best Domain News Blog category is a tough one, all are excellent contenders. Have to go with the blog that I leave the most comments on.
Congrats to all nominees!

I’m pretty shocked that Andrew’s DomainNameWire.com is not on the list of Best Domain News Blogs.
For me it’s a close race between DNJournal, TheDomains and yourself.
Good luck Elliot!

@ Chef
I am shocked as well and didn’t even realize it until you mentioned it. Sometimes everyone assumes someone else will nominate that person, and I am sure that is the case with Andrew.

Wow, that is truly shocking. And to add insult to injury, does anyone seriously think the Frager Factor is even remotely close to the quality of DNW?
Must be a lot of “ChunkyPecker.com” fans casting votes.

domainnamewire.com missing from the list pretty much invalidates the category. It must not have had enough UFO nonsense like the fragerfactor to qualify.

I just sent this note to Rick:

Hi Rick,
I would like to ask that Andrew Allemann be included in the best domain news blog category. I think he’s as deserving or more deserving than anyone on the list. I regretfully omitted him on my nomination sheet, and I think it’s important that he is included…
Perhaps it was an accidental omission?
Regards,
Elliot

Congratulations on the nomination Elliot, you certainly are deserving. Also congrats to all the nominees… it certainly means in one way or another you “get it”.

Am i the only one who thinks the “Domain Hall of Fame” is just about the stupidest f’ing thing in the world?
Sometimes this little industry likes to congratulate itself a little too much….

Dera Mr Scwarz I am disappointment that I am not in the fame hall this year . Why did I not receive? I make very hard work of registration domains.

Ellito,
The reason why you are on this list is because you deserve it! Can’t tell you how often I read and enjoy your entries. Keep up the exceptional work.

Hi Elliot,
I´m currently work in a magazine. For the October issue, I intend to write an article about 10 World´s Most Expensive Cities to Live, and New York is on the list (rank 8th). I want to give our readers a clue about the cost of living in your city. Therefore, I really need your help to answer some questions. Can you please help me? You can confirm it directly to my email k_marisa_y@yahoo.com.
Oh, because of tight deadline, can you give the response as soon as possible? Your help will be much appreciated. I´ll be waiting for the good news :p

Congrats on the nomination for best domain news blog Elliot. I make a point to read your blog daily. I’ll be submitting my votes today.
I wanted to make a couple quick comments –
WhizzbangsBlog.com – For the past couple months I thought Michael had abandoned his blog, or just didn’t have time to blog anymore. I use Google Reader and haven’t seen a new post from him for quite some time. It looks like around sometime in June the feed url must have changed. So if anyone else out there has noticed the same.. update your feed settings.
DomainNameWire.com – Not nominated? WTH? Andrew’s blog is in the top 3 from my point of view.
FragerFactor – Needs a little more focus on quality, not quantity. Not sure it should be on the short list of nominees.

Good points, Loren.
In defense of the Frager Factor, most bloggers haven’t had exposure to a professional journalism or advertising atmosphere. They tend to just blather the words onto the page and don’t necessarily see it from the reader’s perspective. That’s why most entries posted there are extremely difficult to understand conceptually, let alone read as individual sentences.
Folks that have been in a professional setting would recognize this as second nature, but the internet is more forgiving of amateurs creating sites like the Frager Factor.
For example, the posts regarding Microsoft buying bizarre names was genuinely interesting in my opinion. I was willing to put up with the incoherence of the posts to get that tidbit of information. YMMV.
