Domain Name Questions

You Choose the Topic

Subscribe to Elliot's Blog I am working very hard on re-launching a completely new Burbank.com, so my brain is fried. A number of people have asked me various questions about domain investing in the past few weeks and I’ve tried to post responses when possible. Today I am asking people to submit questions to me which will become the topic of a post next week.  I will choose the question/topic, and if I have the time, I will try to write more than one post from the submitted topics.

Should registrars refuse to sell or re-sell domains that have potential trademark issues. As well should they cull the domains out of their parking systems, giving customers the option of deleting or moving them out. These issues damage our industries reputation. Many very successful domaineers made millions this way trashing our image in the general public along the way. When will this stop. Can you say .cm :)

It would be interesting to hear how you determine a “fair price” for a domain when negotiating with a potential buyer. It would seem the buyer has other options if they don’t believe the domain is worth the asking price (most domainers with fewer than five years at this don’t have true premium domains).

what do you see when you try to project yourself 20 years into the future? How do you picture the internet world / domain industry then?
and what people will be typing in their address bar?

I’d like to see some advice from about how domainers can stay afloat during tough times like what we’re going through with our economy.

I’d like to her your view on the future as well, specifically related to the increase/decrease in value of different domain extensions. Frank S. did this this on his blag over a year ago and it was pretty interesting.
